Terms of Service

INTRODUCTION
Carmine Lake Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, Registration Number 09821923.

Your use of this website and any order you place through this website are subject to these terms of business.

SALE OF GOODS
These terms and the order constitute the whole agreement between you and us for the sale of the goods. Any amendments thereto must be confirmed in writing. Please ensure that you are happy with these terms before you submit the order, because you will be bound by the terms once a contract comes into existence between us.

Any photographs, samples, drawings, descriptions or advertising we issue, and any colours, images or illustrations, are offered solely to provide you with an approximate idea of the goods they describe. They do not form part of the contract between you and us for the sale of the goods.

The order is an offer by you to enter into a binding contract, which we may accept or decline at our absolute discretion.

These terms shall become binding on you and us when we issue you with an order confirmation, at which point a contract shall come into existence between us.

We have the right to revise and amend these terms from time to time. You will be subject to the terms in force at the time that you order the goods from us unless any change to these terms is required by law or government or regulatory authority (in which case, it will apply to orders you have previously placed that we have not yet fulfilled).

CONTRACT CANCELLATION - DISTANCE SELLING REGULATIONS
You are entitled to cancel this contract if you wish to do so, provided you exercise your right no longer than 7 working days after the day on which you receive your delivery. To exercise your right of cancellation, you must give written notice to Carmine Lake via letter or email with full details of your order.

If you exercise your right of cancellation after the items have been delivered to you, you will be responsible for returning your order to Carmine Lake Ltd at your own cost.

Further, you must take reasonable care to ensure the items are not damaged in the meantime or whilst in transit. Carmine Lake Ltd reserves the right to refuse a refund on the item or deduct up to 25% of the original selling price from the refund amount if we find that the product has not been returned to us in a fully resalable condition.

Products that fall into the following categories will not be refunded unless they are proven to be faulty, as they will have been specifically ordered for the customer from our manufacturers and can not be returned.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

THE GOODS
These terms do not affect your legal rights. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens' Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Office.
Each product purchased is sold subject to its Product Description. We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on the Website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered into the system. Although we aim to keep the Website as up to date as possible, the information, including Product Descriptions, appearing on this Website at a particular time may not always reflect the position at the exact moment you place an order.
We will take all reasonable steps to pack the goods properly and to ensure that you receive your order in good condition.
We shall not be liable for any defect in the goods arising from wear and tear, willful damage, accident and/or negligence by you or any third party if you use the goods in a way that we or the manufacturers do not recommend, you fail to follow the manufacturer's and/or our instructions, or due to any alteration or repair you carry out without our prior written approval.

We use the online payment gateway Shopify Pay. All transactions made through our payments gateway are encrypted so every card transaction is safe and secure. We adhere to the most stringent levels of security, ensuring that your details remain secure throughout the transaction process.

The best interiors aren't assembled — they're considered. Every element earns its place, and nothing is there by accident.

A Carmine Lake bespoke commission begins with a conversation. We will listen to your needs. We want to understand the space, the light, the mood you're after, and the details that matter to you. From there, Simon and Rachael — the designers and illustrators behind the brand — develop something truly unique around your brief.

That might mean adapting one of our existing designs into a colourway that works perfectly for your space, or creating an entirely original artwork from scratch. Either way, the result is a wallcovering made specifically for you.

This is not an automated customisation service. Every commission is handled personally, with the same care and craft that defines everything we produce.

For private clients, a bespoke wallpaper transforms a room in a way that even the finest ready-made design cannot.

For hospitality and commercial spaces, it creates an environment with a genuine, singular identity — one that creates a mood and atmosphere that's not been seen before. All our designs can be printed on whatever the preferred substrate is, and adapted to be installed horizontally if required.

Carmine Lake is a small, independent studio that only ever takes a handful of commissions each year, which means the work gets the attention it deserves, and the outcome justifies the investment.
